about
Besides framing built architecture, I use photography as a research-driven tool, to document people and living surroundings. I see my photographic work as an artistic take on social, economic, and political themes. Hence my studies of architecture, I am deeply intrigued about the lives and living situations of individuals.
current project Das wilde Bauen
With the new millennium, there are more spaces than ever before: the analogue world is being continued in a digital parallel - unstoppable, ubiquitous, invasive, supposedly practical and inexpensive.
There are now also places for everyday life on the Internet, for example for consumption ... ‘Shopping’ no longer necessarily only takes place in city centres. This competition between (new) spaces is ultimately pushing the digital world into the analogue world: through vacancies. This is because the battle for purchasing power has been won in the networked world - it has become the centre of consumer culture. So far, only the battlefields of this conflict remain - empty former department stores in the centre of city centres.
