Embracing alternative ways of living and working that foster regenerative systems at a local level holds immense potential for growth and prosperity. Especially rural areas have the possibilities to emerge as promising centers of opportunity, offering unique benefits that can shape a sustainable and fulfilling future.
In the past months I have started documenting the cooperative brenn:werk who have bought an old distillery in Wesenberg at the end of 2021. Their goal is to preserve the old building as a place of living and working together.
The close-knit nature of these kinds of communities fosters supportive networks, where people look out for each other and collaborate to address challenges and create opportunities. This spirit of togetherness enhances a nurturing environment to flourish. The growth of rural areas is also intertwined with the evolving concept of work. The rise of remote work and digital connectivity has blurred the lines between urban and rural spaces, making it possible for professionals to embrace rural living while maintaining their careers.
